Gibson banjo serial numbers12/17/2022 The rim has all of its original hardware, except for 6 vintage replacement bracket hooks and nuts (you have to look very closely to tell the difference). These earliest banjos did not have Gibson decals, only a metal plate screwed onto the dowel, but 127 is missing the metal plate. TB 127 has a Kraske design 12 inch, hollow, open back rim. I have information about the original owner as well. This one is very clean and in very good condition. Every Gibson banjo collector should have an example in their collection. Gibson TBs are very rare, I have records for only 46 extant, 3-digit FON TBs. The first recorded Gibson banjo sn is 101, I know of only 4 TBs with lower numbers. This is a very early Gibson, serial number 127, from the first batch of Gibson banjos made from 1918.
